Learn Raku

Learn Raku is now available on the App Store — free, for iPhone and iPad — and on Google Play for Android.
Learn Raku brings the complete Raku Course to your phone: the same structured path from your very first program to grammars, concurrency and web programming, in an app that works without an internet connection.
The examples run
Reading about code is good; running it is better. The app carries Raku++, our implementation of the Raku language, compiled for the device itself. Under every runnable example there is a Run button: tap it, and the output appears right under the code. When a program asks for input, you type the answer.
- Over a thousand runnable examples across the course.
- The Playground — write your own programs, with syntax highlighting, a symbol bar for the characters Raku needs, program input, and 22 example programs to start from.
- Any example opens in the Playground, so you can change it and run it again.
There is no server behind it: the code runs on the phone, offline.
Everything the course has
- 399 lessons in six parts — from variables, types and control flow, through objects, I/O and exceptions, regexes and grammars, to functional, concurrent, reactive and web programming.
- 216 quizzes with instant feedback and an explanation for every option.
- 396 exercises with worked solutions — solve them in the Playground, then compare.
- The Final Test — a hundred questions across the whole course, with a full review at the end.
- Full-course search, progress tracking with a Continue card, and light and dark themes.
Private by design
Everything is bundled with the app. There is no account, no ads and no tracking; the app collects no personal data, and your progress and your programs stay on your device.
The course is also free on the web at course.raku.org. The app is the same course, in your pocket, with a Raku compiler included.
